The Woodcock is a master of disguise, it perfectly dissapears as it sits on its nest on the woodland floor, I recall many years ago taking a friend to see a nest and when we were perhaps fifteen feet away I pointed to the bird as it sat motionless, my friend looked and it took him at least a minute before he finally saw it, he was shocked at how well it was hidden in full view
